Spokane City Council
Listens To Peace Resolution

Decides to do nothing. Yet!

The council members were stunned at the number of people there - maybe thirty or so. Didn't know how to deal with that many people. What would they do with several hundred people showing up.

Perhaps the Spokane County commissioners can be given a chance to do what more than 100 city and counties have done - pass resolutions for a peaceful resolution of disarming Iraq.

Please send comments on and statements read at last nights meeting to mail@at7.us to be posted on this webpage. Captions for the photos are welcome. Humor is invited.

Comments on Eugster's less than appropriate behavior of not listening to what the people had to say about the proposed peace resolution are welcome.

Comments on Eugster's behavior:

Rusty commented that Eugster seems to believe Saddam is a bad guy and he should be killed.

So much for rule of law. Who needs laws or lawyers anyway? I know that attitude is not unusual. It doesn't seem that the people that take this position, of the biggest bully should rule, realize it is self defeating when they are not the lord bully. Such deadly arrogance.

---

Eugster says the war is not a local issue. Wait until it starts and he may find out differently when the streets are blocked off by demonstrators. If the cops are called out, we can tell them not to bother about us, that Steve Eugster says the war is not a local issue so the local police need not deal with it.

What gets me are the attacks on France and Germany, as if friends can only be sounding boards. We tell our children that if their friends want to do something illegal, reckless, or stupid, they should try to talk them out of it or, failing that, they should depart and not get involved themselves. France and Germany are doing exactly that with regard to the U.S. They are our friends, and our government should listen to their advice.

Eugster refused to listen.

The American flag is standing in for him.
